Zap.Inc
Supporting Our Community
Hello, my name is David Meza, founder of Zap.Inc Photography. Zap.Inc was created in 2006 in hopes to capture the beauty of overlooked communities. Born and raised in North Richmond, I was inspired to showcase the wonderful people, small businesses, groups of artists, and community events that often go unnoticed. Over the last few years I have been able to travel to amazing places, shoot for outstanding organizations and have even won awards for capturing captivating moments in daily life. Zap.Inc is used to help nonprofits and local community events get high quality images subsidized with donations. Currently looking to expand Zap.Inc, we are constantly looking for new upcoming photographers to help develop their vision and skills to better capture our communities.
Most of Zap.Inc's work is in support of the community. From Volunteering in community events and documenting those events with our photography, we document grass route events that usually go underappreciated for the lack of professional documentation. We try to connect networks of like minded individuals or organizations for collective support. Unfortunately, in some cases credit for these events aren't given to those who are responsible. Our photos are so people can see the individuals that make a difference in our community no matter how small it may seem to others. Showing that there are people out there that love and cherish our cities and need help to keep our community safe and clean for our current and future generations. There is so much more that needs to be done and we get a chance to help make that happen, even if it's just letting the rest of the community see through our lens. Throughout the years we have been fortunate to participate in many local and historical events such as:
Documenting Artist
Wesley Zaire Adderton
Small Local Businesses
Tacos 664
Community Events
Bike to Work Day
Community Activism
Richmond High Schools Protest Together
Local Leaders
Najari Smith, Kei Kei, Malcolm Marshall
Many of our community photoshoots are free/or discounted, which is why donations are heavily appreciated.
